More Festival Fun Than We Can Cope With
There is no doubt the festival is the best thing that has happened to Colonsay since God invented the sheep.

We have had more fun this weekend that you could shake a stick at. However a corporate view has been taken - what goes on on Colonsay stays on Colonsay. You'll have to come and see for yourself next year.

Another Milestone For The Head Brewer
Head brewer Chris has, of course, been mastering his artisanal skills - but at the same time he's been working on his language skills.
This week he reckons for the first time his English vocabulary is as big as his Gaelic -- he'll be trying out all those new words on the festival goers.

First 500's Roll Off The Line
Lager was the first to go into the new packaging - and very good it looks to. Changing the bottle size is involved changing the labels and so we took the opportunity to change the best before bit to accommodate a new machine we may buy etc etc. Sad but we suppose inevitable. We may be the same size as everyone else - but we taste much better.

D Day has arrived
We fought a good fight - we tried hard but finally the combined forces of Europe and the brewing industry proved too much. Colonsay brewery has gone metric.

From day one we wanted to keep producing in pints - but as we are now virtually alone in this goal finding bottles was becoming increasingly problematic and we decided to fall in line with everyone else - hold on to your pint bottles they may become collectors items soon. From tomorrow we are producing in 500 ml bottles - sorry we tried hard but it’s the way it has to be.

Perfect Arrangement
Our friend Donald has been a great supporter of the brewery since it opened. So it's only natural that we sit with him at the ceilidh last night.
Donald had the foresight to arm himself with a mini keg of Colonsay Lager to lubricate the demanding dancing.
Naturally being a generous soul he poured us a glass or seven thereby completing the perfect, for us, business model. We brew it and package it, Donald buys it and we drink it. Cheers Donald. (Its our turn next week).
