Not only did our salesman become the first, and to date only, fare paying passenger to Colonsay but Islader G-SEIL also bought the first ever proper air freight to the Island.
But don't tell Highland Airways - David told then he was skint and the carboard box was actually a suitcase. No extra charge then, you see.

After much responding to telephone messages from a man call AJ and answering machine ping pong David finally gets hold of the guy.
It seems he is an organiser of Indian weddings in London and the South East and is looking for some beer different to the ubiquitous Cobra. AJ says he read on our website that Colonsay Lager goes well with curry and he reckons it could be just what he needs.
He's not terribly bothered that we are in Scotland - or indeed on a wee island. Send some samples and he'll give it a go. What sort of quantity was he looking for? Some weeks - 50 kegs. One day, one day. True story. Not sure why we felt the need to add that guarantee - these blogs are all true stories.

We took a call yesterday from the organiser of one of Scotland's newest and most popular wooden boat festivals - Ross Ryan of the Crinan Classic.
He wants to order Colonsay beers for this year's event in early July. No problem. In fact even less of a problem because he wants to sail overe himself to pick it up. His family have, as you would imagine in Crinan, serval boats.
However we are rather hoping he'll come across in his recently restored William Fife classic yacht.
She is one of the most beautiful boats you could ever see and would be a magnificant sight being loaded up with Classic beer at the Colonsay Pier.

Its only May - ok nearly the end of May - but the island is still far from being in full swing and beer stocks are perilously low already.
Brewing has happened twice this week - all available vessels are full - botting has been going on twice too and kegging. The IPA was bottled on Tuesday, and kegged, and until that moment there was a grand reserve stock of ONE keg - all very carefully planned and managed of course. No point in having stock sitting there not making money. We are planning and advertising camapaign based on the theme Please Drink Colonsay Beer Only In Moderation. We will pretend we are socially aware and get some government quango to pay for it - but in truth it may be neccessary to maintain sanity in the brewery. Whoops too late.
