All this from a few paragraphs in the Corncrake. We did not speak to the corncrake and sustpect we have a mole. A leak inquiry is underway, and a leak is under the mash tun but that's different.

7 am and nothing on the island is stirring - except in the brewery where work is underway for the historic bottling of the third ale type.
The IPA has reached the peak of its condition, save for the sail to Oban, and bottling is about to commence. Well that's the plan....early start and the beer gets off the island in the skivers car at 12. Leisurely run at it, few cups of tea. The plan however went wrong and whether it’s still the aftermath of the opening or what the bottling did not actually commence until 10. The pier is phoned to warn of a late car - and as the Lord of the Isles stern rope goes onto the mooring bollard a car speeds (with great car local residents) to the pier loaded down with IPA.
On a brewery website written by the brewers you would not expect an unbiased opinion of the beer. But believe me this IPA is fantastic. It’s got a wonderful bitterness that lingers and is reminiscent of nights in pubs twenty years ago.
News spread of the bottling and within hours of the line being washed out the hotel and shop had both ordered.
Tomorrow a presentation is to be made at a number of potential outlets in the central belt, fingers crossed.

The Hotel telephone in the middle of the opening to ordered a second keg of lager the first having been all but finished in one night. Bloody hell we'll have to brew some more. The delivery will be made by the entire company and their wives for we are having dinner to celebrate the launch of the enterprise abd they ain't no way we'll be drinking inferior mainland nonsense.

Yes we could organise a pxxs up in a brewery. And a jolly good one it was too. Three o'clock say a goodly proporition of the island assembled to see oldest resident Dougie McGilvray, not far off his first hundred, cut the ribbon and declare the brewery open, officially. If the gods had wanted to send a sign as to the success of the venture they could have sent nothing better than the brilliant sunshine that stayed with us for the whole afternoon as locals and visitors supped free pints and passed in the main favourable judgement. All went back for more which probably the best mark of the product.
So that's the fun done with - mainland sales start next week. If by some chance anyone is reading the drivel near a central belt upmarket wine shop or beer seller please popin and ask for a few bottles of Colonsay Lager or 80/- Ale, or indeed IPA. They won't have it but may be sti, ulated into getting some.

OK so it wasn't on sale - The till had to be programmed and the brewery failed to provide delivery note etc/. These hurdles have been overcome and at 6.15 all are assembling to have pints of draught lager pulled by the fair hand of island bar managed ANGUS MACPHEE - - always capitalised to empahsise is commanding presence. Can't wait - we're off.
