cloisters Success
Success up to a point. The Cloisters took two casks of IPA - loved them and sold them. Now one of the casks is missing. Not a fantstically profitable deal then.
However its a great bar, on Brougham Street in Edinburgh -- good beers and good food. Kind of like pubs used to be, without the smoke.

Lochaber Some More
We spent yesterday at Fort William at the Forteith Foodservice show where producers big and small showcase their wares and take orders from the trade for the coming season.
We had a great day -- took lots of real orders - but better still found there to be real interest and enthusiasm for our beers which will, we believe, turn into orders in the coming weeks as the tourism industry wakes from its winter slumber.

Huge Mystery On Beer Island Solved
Over the years we have had many excuses for our lapses in blogging. Drunkenness, idleness, lack of interest, lack of material - they've all played a part.
Now we have the best ever. We lost the password. We thought the password was Scalasaig - the name of the capital city of our island. In fact it was not. However we spent many a dark evening coming up with various permutations of what we recalled was our user name and password. None was correct. However anonymous still have a few operatives out there to get into our little site. So here we go again.

Another New Outlet for Colonsay's Finest
The manager, Barry, of a new (ish) Edinburgh bar has been tasting the odd bottle of our beer bought from Locketts in North Berwick.

Acting on intelligence received we spome to Barry at the Cloisters Bar and sold him Colonsay IPA in cask, being casked up today for delivery on Saturday.
Talk about a brewery on a roll. The sales director (new proper name) will be looking for a,pay rise. Or even pay!
We'll let you know how we get on. However the Cloisters seems to us to be the perfect balance between a student bar, a tourist bar and a beer lovers bar. What would you call it? Oh yes. A proper pub.

Belhaven Best
When we delivered the lager we found the empty porter cask had gone. Picked up by Belhaven Brewery no doubt unaware that it was ours.

So the skiver was dispatched to Belhaven to find the cask. Some chance. We expected to be met with indifference at best, distain more likely.

How wrong can a brewer be? When he turns up looking for one cask amongst possibly 50,000 kegs and casks, the folk at Belhaven could not have been better.

The first to be asked jumped from his seat in a warm dry office and poked about the rain soaked yard and the casks and kegs for the best part of 20 minutes -- and there tucked away out of sight was our cask.

It may be a nuisance to them but its £50 to us---- so thanks guys.
