Calmaclamity
No boat on Friday - No boat today - the island may be running low on supplies but at least we will not run out of beer. Lots of cunning beer reciupies being sought online to make the best of a bad situation. There may be a boat on Wednesday but Friday is looking bad again according to metcheck.

Rose comes up smelling of Beer
Scotland's top wine writer Rose Murray Brown

put down her well polished glass and picked up a tankard to devote her entirely weekly Scotsman Column to Colonsay Brewery.
I can't lik it because it does not appear to be online - but the article was very favourable (Thanks Rose) and prompted a phone call from a top hotel on a neighbouring island wanting to explore the possibility of selling our draught beer.
HOW CAN WE GET IT THERE - WE NEED A BREWERY BOAT

Headless Chickens Reunited with Head
The boss is back. Our beloved managing director returned from New Zealand to a pile of paperwork and unpaid bills and other demanding administrative stuff beyond the abilities of his colleagues. He also brought news of tastings of many Kiwi wee brewery beers and declared not one to be a rival to Colonsay's finest.
We are just worried that this is just a softening up exercise prior to wapping in the expenses claim for 97 pints of kiwi beer.

Cock of the North
We have a new Northern Outpost - just about the poshest whisky shop in Scotland. Duncan Taylor specialise in cask strength, single cask, and rare malts - and now they also stock the entire range of Britain's most exclusive beer.
They have a great website too for whisky enthusiasts:
http://www.dtcscotch.com/

Just be carefull - its a dangerous place for a man with a credit card to go.
Those of you with a good knowledge of Scottish History will have worked out from the headline that the shop is in Huntly.

Skiver Strikes Again
Partick Farmers Market not long after the sun has risen and two unlikely lads stumble bleary eyed out of a white van. Looking slightly lost they are seeking shuffling from stall to stall before eventually arriving at the empty one and filling it up with Colonsay Beers.
This is the crack team parachuted into the frontline of the brewery retail operation to accommodate yet another skive by the skiver - apparently pressing business in London.
Step forward island musician and mainland electrician Donald MacAllister and bosses laddie Keir Johnston.
What stars they were too. Sold out of IPA and 80/- and made a massive dent in the lager - well done guys - may be a permanent opening for two bright boys like you.
