Anyway the i's are dotted and the t's crossed and the Isle of Colonsay Brewing Company puts to see courtesy of Nichol McKinnon well known Islay rib man.
Rib loaded up with kegs of IPA and taps and other bar equipment off we set for Islay - beer installed in the Port Charlotte and running well. First night on sees virtually a whole keg away. Not bad for a Tuesday night pre Easter. Now top Islay fisherman George Gillies has said he will act as our floating dray to ferry kegs backwards and forwards.
But - not a problem faced by other amateur brewers lie S and N etc - at the height of the summer he fishes round Oransay rather than Colonsay and won't be able to come up to the pier for beer. No worry - the summer ferry is going then. If you come to Colonsay for a day trip do not be suprised by a knock on your car window and a plea: "Would you mind dropping these off at the Port Charlotte hotel"

About a year aftyer getting the knock back from the Green Welly stop in Tyndrum - highlighted in the blog - someone from the gaff emails us to offer advice on how to pronounce the name of the village. It is Tyndrum as in Tin of beans, he says.
Anyway always one to take a chance I email back and tell him its about time we got onto his shelves. He says he's prod the manger - so if you are heading to Colonsay stop at the Green Welly and ask for Colonsay beers. It may do the trick - though the way things are going there may not be enough to supply him....but it would be fun to reject his order.

The Colonsay Brewery is coming out of its winter hibernation and is gearing up to another busy time. Its been very quiet since Christmas - then crash bang wallop everything start coming together again: New stock for the brewery shop - delivered. Mini kegs - delivered. Taps for new draught customer - delivered. Bottles - delivered. Bet something has been forgotten.
Stocks of all three beers are now in production and will be packaged (brewery talk) over the next few days and then its a brewing day asap. The new fermenter is operational and fermenting and GEORGE is coming over on Monday for a bit of tweaking - no not him the plant.

We have an intriguing potential customer. Just how difficult can a delivery be? Our "neighbour", a hotel in Islay is keen to stock our draught IPA. How far are they away? About 20 miles perhaps. Only to get the draught there we would have to take it by Calmac to Oban, drive round to Kintyre and Kennacraig and get the ferry to Port Ellen and then drive it another 15 miles or more to its destination.

What we need is a brewery boat.
Fearful of upsetting the deal before it is done we may have just such a thing. A passing boat that is prepared (we hope) to be a floating dray..........watch this space.

The brewery will not be at the farmers market this week - the licencing board has no knowledge of our application. They are fine. The post office I'm not so sure about (apart from the one here which is 100%). Anyone want to buy some beer - special discounts available?
