Sky Larks - Full Ferry - SUNSHINE - it must be Easter
Sitting here in the brewery as the new 80/- is pumped into the FV looking out over the Firth of Lorne to Jura it is clear spring is here.
There are skylarks in the sky (where else do you expect them? ed)apparently LotI is full tonight and some unbooked cars told they will not get on. Quiz in the hotel last night was buzzing with lots of our beer being sold and the sun is shining.
Suddeenly the gloom and gales of the winter begin to fade from the memory. Top island policeman PC Don McLeod was on patrol this morning - in his boat - and reckons he picked up a few shoals of fish - pollack or cod perhaps - so tonight once the transfer is finished we think its time to head to sea to see if there is anything to catch.
The brewery shop doesn't officially open until (don't breathe a word of it) the Sabbath but already the very first item of the new clothing has sold. Someone came up yesterday as we were bottling and asked kindly to have a look and bought a hoodie. The lengths some people will go to steal a march in the fasion stakes.
That's the transfer finsihed -- we're off.

Long Lunch - Big Ideas
The brewery ladies, and others, enjoyed a long lunch in the early spring sunshine round at Bob's - sitting in the garden drinking Champagne cocktails no less.
A long line of burning issues were analysed at length - and some ideas thrown up.
The ladies decided - near the end of lunch we suspect - that we should have a brewery fashion show - and they would be the models. They'll have forgotten by the morning ---- we won't.

Summer's here
Our friend LotI is back on the island run which means folk coming to the island can have a pint of Colonsay beer to whet their appetite for what lies ahead or those leaving havde one to help get over what is being left behind. The winter boat the Mull has an allegiance to the Isle of Mull Brewery - LotI thinks of us fondly, it would seem. From sometime next week you should also see our new three packs on sale on the boat and elsewhere.

Culture Comes to Colonsay
There is nothing unusual on this island - in as much as the normal rarely happens. cSo it is we are sitting here tonight working out the wording for our advert in a theatre programme.
Maybe not the west end but something equally exciting - the island first ever home produced theatre production for many years.
There were worried faces coming out of the dress rehearsal this afternoon but no doubt it will b e alright on the night.
So our ad has been emailed and the price agreed ---beer for the raffle. We're looking forward to it.

Job Done Two Years Late
We all agreed in those far off days of 2007 that what every wee brewery needed was a nice little presentation pack to hold one of each of our three beers. Ideal as a gift or for a connoisseur wanting to try our beers. So as we busied ourselves getting up and running we spoke to several folk about getting said boxes, even had samples sent but the large size of our PINT bottles meant that none really fitted. So the job went on the back burner - and every now and then Keith or someone would say 'did we ever get anywhere with the presentation packs'. No, and a shuffling of feet was always the response. Well believe it or not - we have them now. Ina burst of activity the brewers putting demarcation issues to one side (with the pallet trolley) sourced and ordered dinky wee boxes that hold one each of the three beers in record time and they have been delivered to David this very day. All he has to do is get them here ..............
