Going Down a Treat At The Atrium
Colonsay lager went on sale this week at the Atrium Restaurant in Edinburgh, about as posh as you can get, and neighbouring Blue Bar.
They've re-ordered already with their thoughtful head of drinks James commenting:

"Our guests seem to be loving the fact that they are being offered a beer that they have never seen before. Also, it is proving a very good beer to drink with food as it isn't harshly carbonated like most mainstream beers. So, all in all a very good seller."

All joking apart its a fantastic place - the skiver first dined their not long after it opened in perhaps the early 90's or even the decade before and reckons he can still taste the fantastic pigeon and puy lentil starter in his dreams.

Brewery Contracts - - But Its Not Credit Crunched (Yet)
Colonsay Brewery is closing its regional distribution hub, it was announced today. A spokesman for the island based company said no jobs would be lost.
After two years supplying mainland Scotland from the curtilage of our of the country's most historic homes the brewery has closed the stable door, but there has been no bolting of horses.
It can be revealed the hub was secreted away in the stables of Tyninghame House

However our hub manager, and stable proprietor David H and his family have moved on meaning we have lost the use of the hub.
Never mind we'll find somewhere else soon. Thanks for the (free) ride H's and every happiness in your new home. By the way what are you planning on doing with that lovely greenhouse in the garden (joking).

Back To The Real World
So its bye bye festival and hello again to the real world. The world that is not full of music and whisky ------actually lets face it the real world kinda stops at Oban.
But here at the Isle of Colonsay Brewing Company Ltd not only have we been banging out pints non stop for four days we've also found time to get and make up orders for the mainland and this morning no less that TWO brewery vehicles left on the early boat to deliver to outlets in Oban, Glasgow, Callander, Edinburgh and North Berwick.

All Over Bar Nothing
That was some festival.
Four days of running a bar and listening to the very best that Scotland has to offer musically. It gave us a warm glow to hear folk’s reaction to the pints we were pulling and a few bob in the back pocket too.
The session this afternoon ended about 6 with a few stalwarts managing a final brewery pulled pint. It will be sad at the pier tonight saying goodbye to our new found friends.
One of us woke this lunchtime thinking his house had been full of people singing and playing instruments until 9.30 this morning and these people had amongst other things drunk eight bottles of whisky. Fortunately it was just a dream.

The Best Night Ever
We're sure Colonsay must have had a few people making similar claims before but last night was an event the island has never seen the like of. Three of Scotland's top bands playing till 1 o'clock this morning, the hall full to capacity throughout, the brewery bar buzzing, there's no point in going on because if you were not there it would only make you sad. One of us woke this morning believing the bar had been open until 5 am and there was piping in the kitchen all that time. Fortunately it was just a dream.
